Children's Ministry
The Children’s Ministry at First Lutheran Church is a Christ centered ministry devoted to connecting children and their families to Christ, the Church, and the Community. We are committed to providing opportunities for kids to learn, have fun, and grow in their relationship with Christ and others.

Sunday School
Sunday school is offered every Sunday morning from 11:00am – Noon for children in preschool through 6th grade. We have a great team of dedicated volunteers to help your child know, love, and follow Jesus. For more information about these classes or any other Christian education program contact the church office at (310) 545-5653.

Preschool & Kindergarten: Red Room
1st & 2nd Grade: Green Room
3rd & 4th Grade: Yellow Room
5th & 6th Grade: Beginner’s Room
Shining Stars
Youth Group
Mondays, 5:30-7:30pm (throughout the school-year) Shining Stars is our midweek program for children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Our time together includes dinner, outside play, and learning about God’s love through music, crafts, and story.
Children also have the option to be part of our Youth Choir which meets from 5:00-5:30pm.
Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is for children in pre-kindergarten to twelve years of age. Music is upbeat and age-appropriate. The choir sings during worship services throughout the year, and present special programs for Christmas and Easter. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-5:30pm, prior to Shining Stars. Children are not required to participate in Shining Stars to sing in the choir.
Seasonal Children's Ministry Opportunities
EASTER EGG HUNT
Join us on Easter morning for an egg hunt as we rejoice in Christ’s resurrection! This event is for children of all ages and begins after our 9:30am worship service.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS SERVICE
Each December children of all ages get the opportunity to be an active part of worship as they share the news of our Savior’s birth through costumes, songs, and Scripture. This is a great way for kids to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and to celebrate the real reason for the season.
For one week during the summer months, First Lutheran participates in a wonderful VBS program! Make sure to follow First Lutheran's calendar of events so you know when registration begins!
