"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord."  James 5:13-14

-- Dear Parents, Friends and Neighbors --

Please accept this

CORDIAL INVITATION

to attend our next Healing Service at

First Lutheran-Manhattan Beach

Saturday, October 31, 2015

Doors open at 10:00 a.m.

Service begins at 10:30 a.m.,

and lasts about 1 hour, 15 minutes.

Pastor John and Deacon Paul

will be assisted by

Elders Art Vanick and Rick Jensen

Music is provided by Ray Knehnetsky

We will worship together, with responsive readings

from the Bible, sing a special hymn recalling Jesus’ healing ministry, confess our sinful natures and receive the

assurance of God’s forgiveness;

and then, bring our needs to Him in prayer,

with laying on of hands and anointing with oil,

all in accord with the encouragement of Holy Scripture

as it is found in the Epistle of James 5:13-16.

We’ve celebrated with joy the gradual healing of a

daughter with cancer, and a Pre-school mother’s story of

her young child’s ailing heart being repaired.

We also intercede for loved ones not present who

are sick or recovering from injury.

We believe Jesus does the healing

while by faith we trust in His promises

Afterwards, we’ve prepared a short reception in the Parish Hall for all who come to the Healing Service…

with coffee and tea, sweetbreads, fresh fruit, and yogurt cups.

It’s a great time to talk and get to know one another

while sharing our stories in a relaxing atmosphere.
