FLC Music Ministry & Mira Costa High School Colorguard is sponsoring a joint RUMMAGE SALE

 

Saturday, Oct 10th from 8AM to 12PM

 

The FLC Music Ministry program and Mira Costa High School Colorguard will be holding a joint Rummage Sale to raise much needed funds.  This joint venture brings members of our congregation together with youth from our community in a shared venture to raise money for their programs.  What a unique way to unite our Mira Costa High School community with our First Lutheran family.  Proceeds from the rummage sale will be shared equally (50/50).   The FLC Music Ministry program will be focusing their fundraising effort toward the purchase of new equipment and guest musician fees. The current music ministry budget could use a boost from extra funds earned from the rummage sale to pay for guest musicians for special events and to put towards the purchase of upgraded/new equipment (i.e. wireless microphones, etc).  The MCHS Colorguard will be focusing their fundraising effort toward the purchase of parade flags and a new floor for the Winterguard season. The current floor has several layers of paint from previous seasons and has a significant tear.   It is just past its prime and safety has become an issue. We hope that this rummage sale will help provide sufficient funds to purchase a new floor for Winterguard and parade flags for home football games, MB Hometown Fair and other parade events.

 

We are in need of item donations (clothing/accessories, small furniture, books, household items, décor, kitchen appliances, electronics, toys, sport equipment, tools, costume jewelry, DVDs, games, etc).  During this summer season as you clean out your closets and storage spaces to make room for your new fall wardrobe or to get rid of items you no longer wear, want or use, please consider holding on to those items and donating your gently used, re-saleable items to this rummage sale event.  If you don’t know what the term “re-saleable” means, keep this thought in mind when going through your items, if YOU wouldn’t buy it for a few dollars at your neighbor’s garage sale, please DO NOT donate it, but recycle it in another useful way or take it to your nearest trash receptacle.  We cannot accept any household hazardous materials (paint, etc), stuffed animals or computer equipment.

 

If you can help by donating some items, please hold onto these items, we would love to take them off your hands.  Our current plan is to begin collecting donations in October.  If you don’t have any items to donate, but would still like to support this worthy cause we would gratefully accept your tax deductible donations; checks should be made payable to First Lutheran Church with Rummage Sale entered in the memo field.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Lynn Jaeger below.  Be sure to add the Rummage Sale to your October calendars and come and join us on Saturday morning, Oct 10th from 8AM till 12PM at First Lutheran Church, 1100 N Poinsettia Ave in Manhattan Beach and shop for some great deals.
